Tunnel Tents

What is a tunnel tents you ask? Well it is made by stretching good quality fabric across rigid rings to make tunnel shape. It can usually be entered by either end or through a slit in the side. These tunnel tents can be used for many different purposes such as camping in bad weather to dog shows, where the dog runs through the tunnel. These usually can be found at camping stores, dog stores, or stores that would stock games and toys.

The design of tunnel tents is distinctive and is very easy to maneuver. There is no frame work to fight with which is really nice. Some designs have very rigid hoops or big rings and they can make packing it troublesome while others are designed to fold down easily. Surprisingly there is a lot of room in tunnel tents. The sides of the tunnel tents are determined by the diameter of the hoops and the number of them.

The tunnel tents that are designed just for camping must be staked in place to be secured. They can stand a lot of foul weather conditions, they re highly resistant to snow and wind because the tent does not have a surface for the wind to push against. Snow cannot pile up high and maybe collapsing the tent with its weight. One nice other nice thing about tunnel tents is they can be attached to a normal upright tent, allowing movement from tent to tent.

There are tunnel tents large enough to hold a family of five. There are two bedrooms; one can hold two people the other one can hold three or four. The main living room has six windows and air vents to allow good air flow. But because of the size of the tunnel tent, be sure to secure tightly the pegging points and guy ropes are secure well into the ground. This tunnel tent is very easy to put up and take down. And it does come with everything you need to enjoy the great outdoors.

Tunnel tents are not as expensive as one might assume. They range from twenty five dollars up to a couple hundred, it all depends on how big it is and what kind it is. Camping can be so much fun, be sure to read up on the laws in your state or the state you will be camping in, what is expected of the camper. Be sure to pack what is needed and maybe a little extra. If you run out of something, you cannot go to the store and pick it up on a camping trip.
